Highlife, Ghana’s colourful national tradition, is at the heart of Berlin-based Jembaa Groove’s sound. The new album Ye Ankasa | We Ourselves features K.O.G, Gyedu-Blay Ambolley, and Kwame Yeboah (Kwashibu Area Band), representing Ghana’s heritage and contemporary titans. This newly crafted follow-up to their debut in 2022 further provokes new perceptions of jazz and soul music.

Jembaa Groove has been burning brightly for the last two years, entertaining discerning dancefloors worldwide. They continue to ratchet up a solid and loyal fanbase with breakout performances on BBC 6 Music, at SXSW (USA), ESNS, and the Supersonic Jazz Festival (Netherlands). During their most recent UK/Europe tour, they sold out a phenomenal show at Londons Jazz café, plus showcases in Paris - New Morning, Zurich - Moods, Amsterdam - Paradiso, Warzaw - Jazzmine and Berlin - Gretchen.

“Jembaa Groove is all about positive vibes. We try to promote positivity, togetherness and respect. But also try to remind others as well as ourselves that destiny lies in our hands, and that you can't take things for granted. If you want something, go for it, but respect the people!”
